The PCR test amplifies genetic matter from the virus in cycles; the fewer cycles required, the greater the amount of virus, or viral load, in the sample. The greater the viral load, the more likely the patient is to be contagious.
This number of amplification cycles needed to find the virus, called the cycle threshold, is never included in the results sent to doctors and coronavirus patients, although it could tell them how infectious the patients are.
In three sets of testing data that include cycle thresholds, compiled by officials in Massachusetts, New York and Nevada, up to 90 percent of people testing positive carried barely any virus, a review by The Times found.
On Thursday, the United States recorded 45,604 new coronavirus cases, according to a database maintained by The Times. The NYT doesn’t report anything that doesn’t have a “get Trump” angle. My guess, soon they will proclaim COVID a scam. Then, they will blame Trump for the faulty testing, say the lockdowns were not necessary and in turn blame Trump for the Covid scam.
Consider this. If the infection rate of the China Virus is reduced by 90% from say 6,000,000 to 600,000, the death rate climbs to some 30%.

My sons co-worker tested positive. Management sent him for a blood test to verify. The blood test was negative.

Just the other day, a guy I work with got his flu shot... then, he got sick... Now he’s waiting on the results of his Covid test.
