Not true at all. I’ve been stationing in Japan on and off for over 2 decades. The truth is the opposite.

Japan is really hard on females who are over 25 and unmarried. Your dating prospects have dropped to null and your chances of getting married are somewhat below zero. Also Japanese men tend to have absurdly high standards.

Marrying an American Military Officer is a pretty good deal for them. They tend to be nice, they have money, they want kids, and living on base is wonderful. Such a big house and big yard.
