I am missing something here.
Man threatens officer with a baseball bat.
Is the officer supposed to run and call for back up, allowing the man to threaten hurt others inside the store?
officer, being threatened deploys taser.
**from the article”** said taser had no effect, man keeps approaching officer.
man gets w/in 5 feet of officer, still holding the bat.
Officer shoots.
Man steps back. drop bat. drops to ground.
To me this sounds like reasonable force, escalation and self protection.
a guy has a bat, and threatening to use it. That is not the time for the cop to whip out a couch and ask the man to “tell me about your childhood, tell me about your mother”.
It does in the title.........
Could go the other way:
On August 3, 2019, a mass shooting occurred at a Walmart store in El Paso, Texas, United States. A gunman shot and killed 23 people

Drugs. It's usually drugs.
It's now illegal to threaten or hurt or kill a Black man no matter what the Black man is doing.
It looks like we are already there, thanks to race-baiting activists, as well as the ‘You’re a Victim’ strategy. Apparently, blacks who have committed assaults, vandalism, rapes (including children), drug deals, and either ignore orders from cops - or attack the cops - are victims and all cops are bad.
Peach
Wrong guy. Steven Tyler (72) - Aerosmith I do believe he’s on some kind of watch list
BTW, why dont the tasers ever seem to do what they are supposed to do?
Drugs. It’s usually drugs.
Yes...
or it could be the clothing. You need two little barbs to penetrate the skin to create a circuit. A baggie hoodie, leather jacket, A barb hits something in a pocket. Penetrates jacket then hits a button/ zipper on a under shirt...
Your BLM-ish suggestion aside, I can think of at least two situations in the KC area where police killed white victims for no apparent reason. June in Sedalia a deputy shot and killed a white girl in her car, claiming she threatened him. No weapon was found, the victim does not have a history of violent behavior, the sheriffs department does not use body cams or dash cams, the deputy will almost certainly walk and we'll never know why he killer her. A year or so before that, police in Overland Park, a KC suburb on the Kansas site, responded to reports of a suicidal teenager. While they were in the drive the kid opens the garage door and backs out in the family SUV. All the cops easily avoid the car and one fires 7 or 8 shots at the kid, killing him. The cop walked, though the department paid him $70,000 to resign. So it's not just unarmed black people being shot for no apparent reason. There is a systemic problem somewhere that has probably existed for decades, but which is coming to light now because cameras are everywhere.
Was he related to George Taylor?
(aka George Floyd, George Kirby, Floyd Taylor)
Nope. He still had the bat even after being shot.
Sadly, In your own words-—”when I was kid”.....
These kids today would rather start a confrontation over ANYTHING...They are militant over everything.
“It does in the title.........”
Thanks.
I blipped over the title I guess, read the first paragraph.
That was a good post
Cops have gone military
There are a lot of statistics about police shooting unarmed folks and those stats wholly defy the BLM narrative
The days of Sheriff Andy Taylor of Mayberry are long gone.
When I was growing up in Arlington across the river from DC the local cops were still closer to Sheriff Taylor than to a militarized force. I don’t remember hearing of any shootings. That’s probably changed along with the dramatically different demographics of Northern Virginia, which was still America when I lived there.
