On Monday evening, the Connecticut State Police Union said more than 97 percent of its troopers have voted saying they have no confidence in Gov. Ned Lamont.
The union said of 850 members, 716 of them cast ballots, but 707 were valid.
Of those ballots, Lamont received 687 votes of No Confidence, Commissioner James Rovella received 681 votes of No Confidence, and Lt. Colonel J. Scott Eckersley received 682 votes of No Confidence.
This comes about one month after Lamont signed a controversial police reform bill into law.
These results have sent a clear and direct message. Our membership showed the courage to stand up for their brothers and sisters, future troopers, their families, the success of the State Police Union and the State Police. Our membership put aside their personal interests for a much bigger cause the future and greater good of all. Many others would not have had the strength to even take such a risk for fear of losing. The Union leadership is grateful to the membership for showing that we do not act as individuals; rather we act as a United group, the CT State Police Union said

Critics, however, said it will only put a target on the backs of all police officers.
The bill would make it easier for citizens to sue individual officers in state court, but they would only be held financially liable if they knowingly broke the law. Though, the burden can be shifted to individual towns and cities.

Sure, let people individually sue a officer in court for any reason and force them to spend time/money to defend them selves and if they followed the law, they are only out attorney fees.
This sounds like something developed by the “Lawfare” group to subvert any semblance of law and order. You can bet the intent is for hundreds of lawsuits to plague the police until they all quit. I wonder if the politicians and lawyers behind this stopped to think what happens when the police are gone, and there is nothing to stop the public from eliminating them for a reset.
Looks like Police are rising up against these no good Governors. Could be the way to go before all is said and done.
Which will be some large multiple of their annual salary. But it's ok, matching sarcasm with sarcasm. I am sure the attorney will be happy to secure the fees with a mortgage on their house. Who cares? They are police. They are racist. They had it coming. Especially the black, asian and latino police officers.
Nah. The State had a emergency session that was supposed to be for CCPVirus issues, but the leg threw that aside, and rammed thru this bill as a emergency measure which meant no committee hearings or public comment allowed.
So basically whatever soem well connected lawmakers wanted/were told to do they did.
Could CT go red?
They need to do this on the left coast and Michigan, Illinois, and Pennsylvania.

Doubt it. Bridgeport, Waterbury, Hartford, New Haven, Willimantic, and New London do us in.
Fred Sanford picture....
Once Fred was nagging Lamont all day “Gee, son, I’d just love to have a color tv. How come you don’t buy me one? Danny Jackson got a color tv for his dad.”
Lamont: “Aw, gee, pop. You KNOW he picked that up during the riots.”
I agree.....it’ll be interesting if this picks up as a Blue movement against the governors and mayors for the violence and killings they’ve allowed.
The last few elections it has always been Bridgeport or Hartford that have last minute issues, then magically find enough ballots to flip the race.
Defund the Governator.
He needs fundamental reform.
For a small city, you think Williamantic would be more conservative, but it is full of progressives and illegals. The nearness of UCONN does not help.
Lamont comes from an old Red Family re uncle Corliss Lamont, an identified CPUSA member, possible Soviet asset, and financial moneybags for the communist/New Left including VVAW (the pro-Hanoi Vietnam Veterans Against the War in Vietnam).
See: www.keywiki.org and www.DiscoverTheNetwork.org for more information. A lot more exists about Lamont’s CPUSA support activities including for their fronts and publications such as his contribution of an article in the CPUSA front publication, “New World Review”, Fall 1967 edition entitled “New World Review: 50 years of the USSR”, Nov. 7. 1917 - November 7, 1967”.
His article was entitled “Bulwark of Peace”.
Thank you! That’s the only thing I can think of when I see the name Lamont.
It did when it “elected” Red Ned Lamont.
Who would have thought a hastily passed law, passed a an emergency measure without committee or public hearings would be a disaster.
