The press always bites their nails and wonders how it happened. This guy should be dismembered. We haven’t had a working death penalty since Earl Warren. It is barely used and is far too humane.

Is that the interstate trucker who killed women in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and tried to kill a teenager in Massachusetts?
If so, that was Adam Leroy Lane, arrested in Chelmsford, MA in July 2007, when he tried to abduct a 16-year-old girl from her home after breaking in to the house; she was saved by quick action on the part of her parents.
There is at least one YT video about that case. The husband of one of the Pennsylvania victims was prosecuted for her murder, IIRC.

"...the other is that neighbors didn't interevene and prevent the murder..."
The emerging reality is that in contemporary legal conditions it might be more pragmatic to just quietly close and lock all doors.
A person who engages might have their name paraded around, be doxxed, lose their employment, and house burned...when they could just close the door.

Child rapists really should be one and done, put on an island somewhere with the rest of the convicted child rapists.
Not tortured.
Not beaten.
Not raped themselves.
Not starved.
Treated humanely but just separated from all of civlized society for the rest of their natural lives.
One and done. No more stories about how “registered sex offender”. Throw away the key. They can grow food, make cloths, watch cable TV and watch kiddie porn on the internet. On an island locked up for the rest of their lives.
One and done.

If the dead boy had fought back, the BLM folks would have accused him of murder, like they did when the 17-year-old fought off HIS registered sex offender attacker.

Go to the blaze site then look at the video of the urban terrorist hitting a guy in the head with a brick.
Arming up doesn’t help. We need sniper swat teams to take out the trash.

But Tom Wolf is the governor of Pennsylvania. So Orlando Duarte will not be executed. Instead he will get three hots and a cot for the rest of his life. All courtesy of Pennsylvania taxpayer One of Tommie the Commie's first acts as Governor was to declare an indefinite moratorium on the death penalty.
One of his next acts was to appoint Dr. DIY Dickless aka Rachel Levine as Health Secretary.

Yup, totally hear you. Your post makes sense to me.
I can also envision how law-abiding normal folks might choose to not be involved if they see a couple of naked guys running around outside and shooting guns.

Yet another example of a democrat idea that fails miserably. The other is that neighbors didnt intervene and prevent the murder. Its all about turning a blind eye and let the police handle it. They are probably terrified of guns.
