First mention I’ve seen of “drunk” or “alcohol.” Thus far, I’ve seen that they had controlled substances...weed and pills....and were impaired. Oh...and a gun....Mostly.sober, though. That’s important when you race on roads open to the public

Until people out there get sick of it and start taking the trash out directly. I’d say you’re right for now. The citizens out there do appear to be a tame (-d) bunch.

The criminal justice system in this country is a DISASTER! I don’t know why cops even bother to arrest people.
They are released on bail (or NO bail).
They are allowed to plea to lesser crimes. They are given community service, probation, or at home confinement.
IF convicted, they NEVER (almost never) get the maximum. Short sentences, then early parole.
SO THEY CAN GO OUT AND DO IT ALL AGAIN!
MINIMUM SENTENCING! Do the crime, do the time.
NO PAROLE! Do the crime, do the time.
BUILD MORE PRISONS! As many as needed.
No more country club prisons.
INDIVIDUAL cells for EVERYONE! No reason to EVER leave your cell until released.
This would mean many good things.
1. No more riots
2. No more murders/assaults.
3. Reduced need for prison guards, guards will be safe.
4. Escapes would be impossible.
5. Prisoners would KNOW a date certain (if any) that they will be released. No false hope. (remember, no parole).
Probably with a wink and a nod. The Democrats are seeding these "protests" with aggressive, convicted felons. All 3 of the knuckleheads shot by KR had significant criminal records, and this apparent shooter in Portland sounds like trouble, as well (and is trouble if he was the shooter, obviously).
"A Clackamas man and his teenage son were both arrested early Monday after an Oregon State Police trooper saw the pair apparently racing at over 100 mph in separate vehicles on Interstate 84 near North Powder.The father, Michael Forest Reinoehl, 48, was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, recklessly endangering another person and unlawful possession of a firearm. He was also cited for driving while uninsured, driving while suspended, and for speeding.
His 17-year-old son, whose name was not listed in a police report, was charged with driving under the influence of marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The incident started about 12:47 a.m. when OSP Sr. Trooper Nicholas Hagedorn saw a 2005 Cadillac STS and a Subaru Impreza traveling at 111 mph and apparently racing. The vehicles were eastbound on Interstate 84 near Milepost 286 at North Powder.
Hagedorn pulled over the Cadillac. He notified the Baker County Sheriff’s Office and deputies found the Subaru on a county road off the freeway near Milepost 298, the Medical Springs Highway exit.
Reinoehl, who was driving the Cadillac, showed signs of impairment and consented to sobriety tests, according to Hagedorn’s report.
Hagedorn found “usable amounts of marijuana and unidentified prescription pills” in the Cadillac. He also found a loaded, concealed Glock pistol for which Reinoehl did not have a concealed handgun license.
Reinoehl’s 11-year-old daughter was riding in the Cadillac, which resulted in the recklessly endangering another person charge.
