Kellyanne Conway reflects on leaving White House, husband's attacks on Trump: 'I don't let anyone define me'

"What I would say is, I don't let anybody define me and nobody can make you feel badly without your permission," said Conway, who added that "I think that American couples can disagree and all of that, but I preferred to remain much more private about that and try to use my social media platform to not attack people."

Conway, long a fixture in the Trump White House, announced she was leaving her position on Sunday, citing her devotion to her children and her renewed focus on providing "less drama, more mama.”

"What I'm doing is what millions and millions of parents across the country are doing, which is trying to navigate this new not-so-normal where the kids are learning from home, and I want to be there for them," Conway explained.

"I know this sounds very simple but the truth is I love my job," Conway told MacCallum. "I thought it was a blessing, not a burden, to work through this great nation and this great country.

"You don't come here for the money. What I make here in a year I used to make in a few speeches ..." she went on. "You come here for the love of country, to think you can be one molecule that's a positive force for change."

The couple's 15-year-old daughter, Claudia, has also been critical of Trump on social media, despite her mother's best efforts to "keep our lives very private."

"I never had a Facebook account or Instagram accounts," Kellyanne said. "I don't post pictures of my kids every day. I want them to think I'm a good mom, I don't need the whole world to think I am because I'm posting pictures."

As for what comes next, Conway vowed, "I'm not leaving the arena forever."

Probably why I actually have some respect for Carville, despite the political differences.

Carville worships his wife.

Yes, I remember he teared up when she was being attacked by the media over something she said. He wouldn’t join in the criticism even in a playful way

But Carville still attacked the candidates his wife was working for. Isn’t Conway merely doing the same? He hasn’t attacked his wife that I’ve seen

“””. I know one thing, I could never marry a liberal woman “”

My sister married a Catholic but none of my siblings ever married a liberal. We have standards.

Attacking his wife’s boss publicly certainly publicly humiliated her.

Carville doesn’t trash his wife’s politics and employer every chance he gets in public to humiliate her-at least he is a gentleman, which is more than you can say for George Conway-who is a f***ing jerk by any standard of behavior.

Both Kellyanne and her husband are successful lawyers-but she is spoken of as being a better lawyer than he is-he has probably been professionally jealous of his wife for a long time-her getting the WH gig just kicked his envy into overdrive-as emotionally abusive as he is to her in public, there is no guessing what hell he puts her through at home-and in front of the kids.

I think once she gets the brat daughter either into therapy or off to some exclusive boarding school with some very strict rules-or even emancipated and thrown out of the house with no allowance, she will file for divorce and burn George to the ground legally-she is the better lawyer, after all...

I don’t usually like to see a person get burned down financially in a divorce-but in George Conway’s case, I’d say it is the least he deserves for destroying his marriage/family with his tantrums...

I really like her, but what a dysfunctional family dynamic.

If any couple needs to get a divorce, it is these two.
