3.4 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Metro Detroit

(WWJ) After people all over metro Detroit reported feeling the ground shake, it's been confirmed that there was an earthquake Friday in metro Detroit. (Note from Maddie: Monroe is NOT Metro Detroit, but whatever)

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 3.4 magnitude was recorded at 6:55 p.m., just off shore in Lake Erie.

The precise location of the epicenter was 41.904°N 83.315°W, according to USGS. That's a little less than 2 miles south-southeast of Detroit Beach, an unincorporated community in Monroe County.
