Ratings Continue to Crater for Protest-Filled NBA (trailing golf, NASCAR and wrestling)
Breitbart ^ | August 21 2020 | WARNER TODD HUSTON

The NBA may have come back to TV to play the second half of its COVID-delayed 2020 season, but judging by the dismal ratings, it appears the fans have not.

Ethan Strauss of The Athletic notes that the league’s ratings are coming in well under the pre-COVID break numbers.

ABC’s NBA broadcasts in 2019-20 averaged 2.95 million viewers, down from its 5.42 million during 2011-12, Strauss wrote. That is a 45 percent drop off.

Except in the Philippines. Have to admonish my relatives about things they are clueless about. Especially the BLM and Communist Chinese loving NBA

Viewing these sports and spending one dime on them is totally unpatriotic IMHO. Role models they are not for the youth of this country.

Could part of it be that people aren’t watching, in part because this is normally the off season for basketball?

But then I understand that baseball ratings are lower than expected as well, and we are in the normal time of year for baseball.

I’m sure they are searching for answers as to why people aren’t tuning in. They can’t admit that all this Black Lives Matter business is turning people off, so they need to search for other explanations.

the weird thing is that they think it’s worth it to drive the business into the ground just to make idiotic political statements in support of thugs and racists and terrorists

What is basketball? It used to be an American creation (Naismith, if I remember correctly). Now I don’t recognize it as being anything but anti-American and full of black racist fools leading white guilt-ridden liberals by their balls into the folly of destroying their own jobs/business.

Until there are more handicapped, gay, Puerto Rican midgets in the NBA...I refuse to watch. How dare they let hate win.

At some point fairly soon the NBA teams are going to have to consider renegotiating some of those high paying player contracts. Then again with poor ratings some of the endorsement contracts from Nike and other companies may soon start to end.

At what point will the players determine that they killed the golden goose.

I personally think that professional athletes are way over paid. Yes, they are good, yes they have trained hard, yes many are injured and had their careers end early, but still those are incredible salaries.

“.......The minimum NBA salary (i.e. the least amount of money a player can be paid) ranges from $838,464 to $2,393,887, per Hoops Hype. The minimum amount of money a player can make depends on his experience. The rookie minimum salary is $838,464, while a veteran with 10 or more years of experience can make no less than $2,393,887.....”

Major League Soccer (MSL) has gone full retard in the BLM signalling as well. On the sidelines of the pitch, the coaches and reserve players all wear prominent BLM t-shirts.

It seems to be a generational thing. In the late 90s & early 2000s NBA players were getting arrested at a good clip for weed & trafficking weed. Usually these incidents were related to speeding traffic stops. Somewhere along the line groupthink kicked in...systemic racism that we have now to escape personal responsibility became an easy excuse while inseminating groupies across the country and embracing thug life culture (reading & math is white). NBA was great in the 80s by contrast. Different generation.

So now it seems graduated to the point where Stone in Portland is like ‘I’m going to unleash my impulsive violence unrivaled in the rest of the animal kingdom’ on the easiest mark then chalk it up tp racism. Bright future for that guy. Millennials-worst generation in American history.

Nope.
Every single sports has been affected by the lockdowns yet the non woke golf for example, is doing quite well in their ratings. If anything, the fact that there have been no pro sports for over 4 months should have led to thrm getting much higher ratings.

I’m sure they are searching for answers as to why people aren’t tuning in.

They don't need to search for reasons. They have become an American hating, nasty outfit. Let them stew in their own bile.
