bht is an antioxidant

its a regularly used ingredient in the food processing industry

its kind of like asking why coq10 wont kill you, or any other antioxidant you take or eat in food won’t

it goes after the oxidative damage in your body, it helps keep inflammation down, it basically stops you “rusting”/breaking down on the inside

Thank you very much for your insightful answers which were appreciated, with most of them I have been very well acquainted as I have explored BHT for a good number of years. One answer which makes a lot of sense is the one, that our own cells are able to repair themselves while viruses are not. Either way I still believe that BHT warrants some more research as in a roundabout way it may help the human body to produce its own antibodies. How so?

As BHT destroys the invading virus, enough of the debris will be left to encourage our own immune system to spring into action and set into motion a process very similar in nature how vaccines are created by pharma companies. Except in this case we are using our own body as a bioreactor. Once his process is accomplished there would be no longer any need to take BHT. I think this process would be preferable over some what you may call “Quick” produced vaccine where a synthetic virus is injected which in turn will interact with our DNA-RNA in hopes to produce he desired antibodies. From what I have read coming from medical authorities is, that this process initially may work for a specific virus it was designed for, but should you get infected again by a mutation the results could be vey detrimental to your health.

Of course if we use BHT solely as a prophylactic this process will not be initiated until the actual infection takes place and not until then, the human body will act as a bioreactor and will start to produce antibodies. It certainly would be nice if some companies would direct their research along these lines, but I also know that the world revolves around money and if no big money can be made fairly quickly, most companies would not give it even a second thought. If you care to comment, I would be delighted to hear it.
