Former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to making a false statement in the first criminal case arising from U.S. Attorney John Durhams review of the investigation into links between Russia and the 2016 Trump campaign.
U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia James Boasberg accepted the plea. Clinesmith's sentencing date has been set for Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. ET.
Clinesmith was referred for potential prosecution by the Justice Departments inspector generals office, which conducted its own review of the Russia investigation.

The judge here is the head FISA court judge, too. And what has he done about the fraud upon the FISA court? NOTHING.
The perp guaranteed a slap on the wrist here. GUARANTEED. He won’t be dropping a dime on the others. Sorry.
And even pleading guilty, I expect he will get virtually no punishment.

What do you expect a judge to do? The executive branch investigates, brings charges, and prosecutes. The judge can refer a matter to them in hopes that an investigation will take place. That old pesky three equal branches and all that....
