I think that’s probably true, but most Democrats are in denial about what is politics and what is not.
Typical scenario here in Philadelphia suburbs:
My Democrat coworkers are always cheering the BLM anti police riots and the Democrat Covid shutdowns, and making hateful anti-Trump comments in front of me.
I defend Trump, but they hate him so much the conversation always gets ugly. I say maybe we shouldn’t talk about politics - and then something strange happens.
They look at me with a straight face and say “politics? who said anything about politics?”
And that’s the problem. The Left has the Democrats so brainwashed they do not think BLM is political. They say “The cops are racists - Trump is a racist - I don’t see what politics has to do with it.”
They don’t realize Covid shutdowns are political. They say “What is with these Republicans? Don’t they think this shit’s real? Do they think the pandemic is a hoax?”
I think the biggest problem in politics today is that the Democrats leaders lie to their own voters. The Democrat voters are ignorant but mostly innocent - they actually believe all this rioting is actually about equality. They actually believe the purpose of these Covid economic shutdowns is to stop a virus from spreading.
I ask them - then why is it the Democrat run states that want to stay shut down? They say because Republicans are morons.
I ask them - then why is it the Democrat run cities that are letting rioters tear the cities down? They say because Democrats understand this racism has to end and Republicans want to keep the racism.
They do not understand they are being lied to and exploited by their own politicians. They think politics has nothing to do with what’s going on. They think they are morally superior and anyone who disagrees is a racist.
Here’s another one that really turns me off: when some business says that if you buy from them, they’ll donate some $$ or product to a pet charity/cause of theirs. ?? NO. How about I’ll decide where to donate MY money. If they have priced their products to allow them to donate to their designated causes, then I know I need to keep looking for another vendor.
