Longtime GOP operative Roger Stone says "it is time for me to move on" and has dropped an appeal of seven federal felony convictions against him stemming from former Special Counsel Robert Muellers investigation into Russian collusion.
Stone wrote in a statement posted on his website that the decision was in the best interest of his family.
It is time for me to move on with my life with my family, friends, and supporters. I regret not going forward with the appeal to fully expose all that happened, with the hope that by doing so, I could help prevent it from happening to anyone else ever again; but I had to decide based on what is best for me and my family, Stone wrote. The political taint that exists in the U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia, from the prosecutors to the judge to the jury pool, is so deep and abiding that the possibility of achieving a just result on the merits is as nonexistent as it was when this process played out the first time.

Roger Stone should just write a book. His book about Trump The Making if the President 2016 is outstanding.
67 years old, the damned DC crime syndicate government has bankrupted you, and you have zero realistic expectation of a fair shake from the political courts in your appeal. This is the same system that happily tolerated his corrupt/criminal jury foreman.
Probably a smart move. Build what you can, enjoy the life you have left.
Opportunity to expose more evildoing lost, but I can’t blame him.
Stone should devote himself to digging up really damning dirt on Biden.
He owes that to Trump.
Everyone on this forum who knows him should tell him that.
President Trump would not approve. The commute was and act of compassion. Let it rest. And that’s just what Stone is doing. I’m sure they talked......with tears in their eyes.
Yes write a book. Don’t spend money on lawyers.
probably ran out of money
If he were an icon of the left, a phalanx of lawyers would be at his service, at no charge to him. They would find some way to write it off while turning a profit on it.
I like Roger Stone. President Trump spent political capital pardoning him. He can thank him by maintaining a low profile.
Same with Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Enough.
Meanwhile, Hillary and the conspirators are enjoying the summer in the Hamptons.
He had no chance in the D.C. Circuit and the SCOTUS would not accept an appeal on a case where the sentence was commuted.
