Special Prosecutor: Kim Foxx’s Office Committed ‘Substantial Abuses of Discretion’ in Jussie Smollett Case

The special prosecutor investigating how Chicago prosecutor Kim Foxx carried out the Jussie Smollett hoax investigation has found “substantial abuses of discretion” in Foxx’s actions.

The former Empire star claimed that he was attacked by MAGA hat-wearing racists who beat him and poured bleach on him in downtown Chicago in the dead of night during below zero weather. But a police investigation claimed that Smollett invented the attack. Smollett was arrested and charged with the fraud. But Prosecutor Kim Foxx dismissed the case and released Smollett, dropping the charges.

Foxx’s rush to release Smollett sparked an investigation, led by Dan Webb who found a number of transgressions committed by Foxx and her office. While Webb demurred in finding that Foxx broke any laws, he still noted that many of her actions were dubious, at best, and unethical at worst.

Webb found that Foxx lied about ceasing her communications with Smollett after it became known that the Chicago Police Department was looking to charge him with a crime.

Foxx continued to discuss Smollett’s case with his sister, Jurnee Smollett, up to eight times after she publicly claimed she was no longer in contact with the Smolletts.

Webb also said that Foxx’s claims that she had to recuse herself were legally suspect. Rather, she should have asked a judge to appoint a special prosecutor. Webb added that Foxx “made the decision to ignore this major legal defect seemingly because they did not want to admit that they had made such a major mistake of judgment regarding State’s Attorney Foxx’s recusal.” Webb said that his investigation found evidence that Foxx’s actions “may rise to the level of a violation of legal ethics by State’s Attorney Foxx” and other Cook County prosecutors “relating to false and/or misleading public statements made about the prosecution.”

Yet another instance of the incompetence and uselessness of this prosecutor. You know at least under Richard Daily the city worked. Between Lightfoot and Foxx, that is no longer the case.

Foxx will probably get some sort of sharp rebuke! Or, at least sternly, or supposed, or alleged... Never mind...

Yes it worked. Started going downhill the day Mayor Washington was inaugurated in 1983. It was the day I left. No regrets.

Dan Webb, ....Swamp Creature. All he did is send Foxx a comfy pillow with a tisk-tisk note attached.

This is a point that must be hammered home. It will have to be done by Ingraham, Hannity, Limbaugh, Levin or someone else.

Kamala Harris was a participant in this hoax. She pivoted quickly as soon as the lies began imploding upon Jussie Smollett. Had his stunt succeeded this would have been the beginning of the BLM circus months earlier.

As for the anti-lynching legislation (pushed by Harris and Corey Booker), the Republicans sponsored similar legislation in 1924 only to be filibustered by the Democrats.

“While Webb demurred in finding that Foxx broke any laws, he still noted that many of her actions were dubious, at best, and unethical at worst.”

Translation. Nothing meaningful is going to happen to her. And she will continue of bring corruption to the justice system.

She’s been publicly embarrassed by a negative mention in a report. Any more punishment would just be cruel.

Most of them are she has the right skin color. I am seeing a lot of this in the mainstream media as of late. Unqualified expect for pigment.
