Viruses are going doing what viruses always do. There’s no stopping them until a vaccine is available. And that’s a big IF.
You mean, there’s no stopping them until there’s natural herd immunity or a manufactured herd immunity (vaccine). Until that happens, viruses will run their course. Lockdowns will only elongate the amount of time they will infect people, and all you can hope for is that a manufactured vaccine comes along sooner than the lockdowns last. Human beings aren’t meant to be locked down. I don’t think many organisms are made for that.
