Any suggestions for something as entertaining to the kids as Disneyland is or used to be?

Take them on a tour of the country. Lots to see and do.

That’s a tough one. I know it’s not for everyone, but we really enjoyed the Ark Encounter and the creation museum in Kentucky. My kids get a huge kick out of it, I think because I do. At least for me, it is worth seeing once. Probably the best vacation we ever had though was visiting national parks. We tend to go more for the experiences that are harder to get to. You can’t exchange seeing a moose in the wild or a bear or a buffalo for a prepackaged park in my opinion. Your mileage may vary.
