Dentists Warn Of Harmful Mask Mouth Disease
Periodontal disease caused by extended wearing of face masks is just one more health problem to add to the growing list of adverse effects.
This can lead to strokes and increased risk of heart attacks. ⁃ TN Editor
Some bad breath just cant be covered up.
Now that dentists have reopened their doors, theyre having patients show up with a nasty set of symptoms, which the doctors have dubbed mask mouth.
The new oral hygiene issue caused by, you guessed it, wearing a mask all the time to prevent the spread of the coronavirus
is leading to all kinds of dental disasters like decaying teeth, receding gum lines and seriously sour breath.
Were seeing inflammation in peoples gums that have been healthy forever, and cavities in people who have never had them before, says Dr. Rob Ramondi, a dentist and co-founder of One Manhattan Dental.
About 50% of our patients are being impacted by this, [so] we decided to name it mask mouth after meth mouth.
The term meth mouth is widely used by dentists to describe the dental problems that arise among methamphetamine users.
Addicts often end up with cracked, black- and brown-stained teeth because the stimulant causes sugar cravings, teeth grinding and jaw clenching.
They also often neglect their oral hygiene.
While mask mouth isnt quite as obvious, if left untreated, the results could be equally harmful.
Gum disease or periodontal disease will eventually lead to strokes and an increased risk of heart attacks, says Dr. Marc Sclafani, another co-founder of One Manhattan Dental.
He says the stinky syndrome is triggered by face coverings, since wearing a mask increases dryness of the mouth and a buildup of bad bacteria.
People tend to breathe through their mouth instead of through their nose while wearing a mask, says Sclafani.
The mouth breathing is causing the dry mouth, which leads to a decrease in saliva and saliva is what fights the bacteria and cleanses your teeth.

Masks are more of a placebo than a preventative of viral infection. Unless you put yourself in a hermetically sealed suit, a virus will do what a virus will do.

Hey, no prob.
It was rather incredible to me that no one else had created such images of FACT. It literally took me 3 hours to source & scale the images.
THANKS FOR SHARING (and the credit)! Feel free to distribute anywhere.
But I don’t do it for the credit: I will not be coerced into wearing a muzzle as a pretext for further infringements on the basis of lies and an overwhelmingly-compliant, inherently-ignorant public (stating the obvious for most here...”most”, not all, if recent comments I’ve fielded are any guideline).

Most of those freaks do wear a mask, but I’m guessing it’s mostly to hide their identity.

"Why do you believe the B.S. the DemocRATS are spewing about those harmful masks ? " I don't. I believe in HARD SCIENCE. The "article" is complete speculation...not science.
"The proof is in those photos and links in the article."
The "photos" are complete fakes, and bear zero resemblance to what actually happens when saline droplets are expelled from the body.

"What is incorrect about his post? Maybe you misunderstood the content. Virus are indeed very, very tiny." What comes out of the body are NOT "very very tiny" virus particles...those emissions are large drops of salt water with virus particles embedded, and masks "do" stop them.
Even when those saline droplets completely evaporate off all water, they are still far larger than individual virus particles.
I "misunderstood" nothing.

The same concept applies to condoms being used to prevent aids infection.
The fibers do collect moisture but thats because the moisture is larger than the fiber spaces. But the virus is tiny and continues on through. It’s not trapped and can get pushed through by breathing.
The virus is airborn so therefore doesn’t stickk to fluids only. And, there is moisture in the air for it to ride upon. If the mask traps the virus, the virus gets sucked in by inhaling and possibly in concentrated amounts.

That is an excellent Idea to conduct ocygen saturation test with/without mask.
I have periferal artery disease so my body is already oxygen deprived from the clogging. I just had double stents placed in my abdomen a few weeks ago and am scheduled for more surgery early october. my o2 saturation is 96% without a mask but my extremeties and abdomen are deprived due to the clogging. So when I go in again I will conduct the same test. Thrn perhapse I can get a doc to sign off on having to wear one.

"Sounds counter-intuitive to me. You breathe out moisture and a mask would tend to help retain that."
The moisture you breath out is absorbed by the mask and dried out of the mask as you exhale.
The mask also absorbs the moisture in the air you are breathing in and again it drys out in the mask as the air moves through it.
If you go to the
original source, you'll read :

The mouth breathing is causing the dry mouth, which leads to a decrease in saliva and saliva is what fights the bacteria and cleanses your teeth.
He adds that saliva is also what neutralizes acid in the mouth and helps prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
Peoples tendency to drink less water while masked up, as well as consume more coffee and alcohol during lockdown, have also added to the widespread dehydration hes seeing.
On the bright side, the dentists say that theyre packing in breath-conscious patients who might otherwise neglect their dental health during the pandemic.
Patients are coming into us like, Wow, my breath smells, I need a cleaning.
[But] when you smell the bad breath, you either already have periodontal disease or you have a lot of bacteria thats sitting on your tongue because of dry mouth, says Sclafani.
While masks are not negotiable given the times, Sclafani says there are things wearers can do to avoid their grossest side effect: drink more water, cut down on caffeine, snag a humidifier (to help moisten the air), use an alcohol-free mouthwash, scrape your tongue and dont smoke.
And If all else fails ? Just breathe through your nose! ... "

"They block the tiny pieces of SPIT that carry the virus when you breathe, talk, cough or sneeze.
But morons like you are going to keep posting shit like this because you cant be bothered to act like a reasonable, thoughtful human"
You're not thinking it through.
As the mask drys out with air flowing through it on the inhale as well as the exhale, where do you think those virus particles go ?They go into your body as you inhale, and out into the air around you as you exhale.
But if they leave as you inhale, which is the drier of the two options, you've just INCREASED the chances of catching COVID-19.
Unless you're coughing a lot, there very little spittle going out with your breath.

Not so.

Sunlight destroys virus quickly, new govt. tests find, ...
" ... The study found that the risk of transmission from surfaces outdoors is lower during daylight and under higher temperature and humidity conditions. Sunlight destroys the virus quickly, reads the briefing. ...
"... Simulated sunlight rapidly killed the virus in aerosols, the briefing says, while without that treatment, no significant loss of virus was detected in 60 minutes.
The tests were performed on viral particles suspended in saliva. They were done indoors in environments meant to mimic various weather conditions.
While the results of these tests have not been previously made public, Harvey Fineberg, head of the National Academies Standing Committee on Emerging Infectious Diseases and 21st Century Health Threats, broadly described plans to conduct the experiments in an April 7 letter to the White House.
In that letter, addressed to President Trumps top science adviser Kelvin Droegemeier, Fineberg wrote that the DHS lab is well suited for the kinds of studies they have planned, and the scope and relevance are noteworthy. In particular, they plan to create simulated infected body fluids, including saliva and lower respiratory secretions. ...
"... While the lab results are new, scientists for many weeks have predicted, based on available data on the diseases spread, that warmer, wetter climates would be less hospitable to the spread of the coronavirus. An early analysis by scientists observed that the virus was spreading more slowly in countries with warmer climates.
We are not saying that at higher temperatures, the virus will suddenly go away and everything would be fine and you are going out, Qasim Bukhari, a computational scientist at MIT and a co-author of the analysis, told Yahoo News in an interview. No, we are not saying it. We are just seeing that there is a temperature- and humidity-related dependency, but I think many people now have started to realize this. ...
" ... While the new lab results are important, the science behind how sunlight kills the virus is fairly well established, says Arthur Anderson, former director of the Office of Human Use and Ethics at the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, Md.
[Ultraviolet] light breaks DNA into fragments. If the virus is floating around in the air and theres bright sunlight, the UV component in sunlight will break the DNA or the RNA into pieces, he told Yahoo News." ...
" ... Does this give a little more hope about the virus potentially decreasing? said Dr. Kavita Patel, a Yahoo medical contributor and nonresident fellow at the Brookings Institution. Yes. I would say even Dr. Fauci has alluded to that.
Colds and flus dont disappear in the summer, even if they are less common, Patel noted. We do have cases of the flu in the summer, she said. Thats why all of us in medicine are being a little more guarded.
The labs work was done in a controlled environment, according to the DHS briefing, and tested how long the coronavirus survives on stainless steel in a droplet of saliva from a cough or sneeze under conditions related to temperature, humidity and sunlight. The lab is now doing additional testing, such as experimenting with low-tech techniques for sterilization of protective equipment, which would include using rice cookers, clothes steamers and electric pressure cookers.
The National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center, which conducted the experiments, has traditionally kept a low profile because of its classified work on biological warfare defense and bioterrorism. Fineberg, in his letter to the White House, did not go into detail on the planned experiments, noting that the lab shares its findings with the interagency task force on the coronavirus.
It is unclear for now whether the center intends to publish in a peer-reviewed journal or choose some other route for making its results known. Patel said she could understand government concerns about releasing preliminary results, but in general she leans toward openness.
As a clinical doctor, we want to learn as fast as possible anything that works clinically. You want to be able in the first line to say: This is preliminary, with caveats. But why hold back the information? she said. " ...

WRONG !
I guess you don't trust articles from Technocracy News and from the New York Post, as well as the many Doctors that were interviewed for this article.
In short you just don't believe science, because it blows your agenda out of the water.
But keep sucking air and COVID-19 through that harmful mask you're wearing, until you get sick and learn ...
that I was trying to warn you of the harm you are doing to yourself.

Nothing there is news to me. I used to DESIGN instrumentation to make these kinds of measurements. The key fact is that the particles are NOT “viral”, they are liquid, and act exactly the same whether the infective agent is a virus, a bacterium, or a spore. Anybody who pontificates about the size if a virus particle when talking about airborne transmission or masks, they are just blowing smoke.

Nope. ‘Tis you who are wrong. First, they ain’t “doctors”, they are DENTISTS. Show me an actual study that involves hospital personnel who wear masks routinely that shows the effect, and I might give it some credence..
And I say again....the particles in question ARE NOT VIRUSES, they are water drops. NO free virus particles are emitted from the human body...they are ALWAYS entrained in drops of liquid. And the “pictures” are artist’s conceptions and don’t reflect the reality of the situation.

"The virus is airborn so therefore doesnt stickk to fluids only. " Any airborne particle coming from the human body is contained in a liquid drop, whether it is a virus or a bacterium. It doesn't "stick to fluids"...it is CONTAINED IN fluid drops.
