Gen Augusto Pinochet helped make a lot of good communists. So good they have never been seen again. Could the US produce a Pinochet and his determined enablers when the time may come?
The communists never went away. They have adeptly used failures in some free-market systems to provoke class-envy and hatred. They have succeeded in convincing the population to demand a new constitution that will guarantee equality, eliminate poverty, and shower civil liberties over all. Now pull the other one.
Pinochet was a patriot. Willingly gave back power once the situation was stabilized.
I visited Chile when Pinochet’s regime ran things. The country was spotless, no litter. No graffiti either. A heavily armed cop on almost every corner. The crime rate was almost zero. The people seemed to like the security.
