I think that shareholders of major retail chains should go to the annual meetings and demand an answer for why they maintain stores in the inner cities of Chicago, Portland, New York City, and elsewhere. Normally, the cost of operating these stores is higher due to the cost of added security. These stores, invariably, experience higher “shrink”, and the employees from the neighborhoods are less dependable. You can be woke all day long, but doing business there is not good for business. At least IMHO....
