Exclusive – Election Interference: McCarthy Warns Google Using ‘Tremendous Amount of Power’ to ‘Influence What People Think or See’

House GOP leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told Breitbart News exclusively this weekend that he is concerned Google is attempting to influence the 2020 presidential election with a “tremendous amount of power” it wields to control “what people think or see” through its monopoly search power.

Appearing on Breitbart News Saturday on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel this weekend, McCarthy said that Breitbart News has “been at the forefront” of exposing big tech. He pointed to Breitbart News uncovering video of an internal Google meeting of senior executives in the wake of the 2016 election when they promised to use their power to make President Donald Trump and the movement that elected him a “blip” in history. Then he noted that Google has essentially monopoly control over search as 90 percent of online search traffic goes through the tech giant, and that Google has been using that power to push its worldview on the public.

So is anyone filing lawsuits against Google - or are our leaders simply whining about it?

Guess some of us must be the lucky ones that don’t buy into the lamestream crap. We digest lots of articles and use, I know, OUR judgement to make a choice on what to believe. Per Mark Twain” “No amount of evidence will ever persuade an idiot!”

“So is anyone filing lawsuits against Google - or are our leaders simply whining about it?”

If Google were favoring conservatives, Democrats would clog the courts with suits, and there would be protesters trying to burn Google’s HQ to the ground.

Google favors the left, which means bigger government, and it’s good business for all politicians. So, Republicans will impotently whine and cry.

Just for people who use Google for searches; there are plenty of good sites that don’t censor or track you.

This is Easy, just consider that 990% of the REVENUE they earn in the US as an ILLEGAL IN KIND CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION, Arrest and JAIL them, fine them 5 Trillion Dollars and SEIZE Everything they OWN!

Another reason to just ignore google on all things.

Don’t understand FReepers who use google in a link to their aggregation service. With just a little effort they could use the link to actual article instead of google.

Consider using Duckduckgo as your search engine instead of google. Far as I can tell Ddg offers everything google offers.

Google’s days of offering big advantages to users are over.

In political speak, is concerned a higher level than troubled?

Talk is cheap, Mr. McCarthy! Then you can sit back and claim that nothing can be done because the democrats are in control.

Back in 2017 you and your boss Paul Ryan could have tackled some of these pressing issues and corruption. You had two years in control of the house. You did nothing. In fact, you and Paul Ryan pushed back on the white house, when they wanted to get rid of the crooks and the ones who have been compromised/paid off e.t.c.

Nice Kabuki theater, Mr. McCarthy. But save it for someone looking for entertainment. You and your lot accomplished nothing when you could have taken on the likes of Google.

Unfortunately we are somewhat in the minority. I don’t know if the mushy middle actually takes the energy to find alternate news sources. Youtube just recently banned a great Trump ad. If tptb don’t start filing huge lawsuits against big tech we do have a real problem.

This is the fault of our treacherous Republican Leadership. The same people receiving campaign donations from Google, simply refuse to stop their censoring!? ...Nikki Haley, Mike Lee, etc...

I'm thinking only the severely ignorant citizens of our country would be swayed by any nonsense generated by google, or any other type of google measures, and the overwhelming majority of those are already going to vote against their best interests.

I don't see Americans being as completely blind to reality in general and that most see right through this crap if and/or when they actually pay attention.
