“Squad” member Rashida Tlaib was trying to fend off a serious challenge for her House seat in Michigan’s primary on Tuesday, in a rematch with the woman she narrowly defeated two years ago.
Tlaib, one of the first two Muslim women in Congress, was seeking reelection in the 13th District in and around Detroit. Her sole opponent is Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones, who lost by 1 percentage point in 2018 when the primary field was larger. Jones on the same day defeated Tlaib to fill out the remainder of John Conyers’ term.

The NY Tines is reporting at 1:57 am, that Rashida Tlaib is far ahead. With 74% of the votes counted:
Rashida Tlaib 12,631 65.8%
Brenda Jones 6,568 34.2%

Who would vote for an anti american like that. Is Michigan anti american?
Tlaib’s district is the 3rd poorest in the country. I doubt 10% of her constituents ever heard of her or even know there is a primary today.

At 0350 EDT on 8/6/20, Tlaib leads Jones 27,070 to 13,944.
By contrast, the 3rd district GOP primary in the Grand Rapids area to replace Justin Amash has tallied 87,000 votes, with Peter Meijer of the famous Meijer markets family getting 43,520 of them, scoring an easy victory over state Rep. Lynn Afendoulis of the famous laundry/dry cleaning family.

Oh look, she passed the test. Another incredible victory, like it was ever in doubt.
Tlaib ran ads portraying a nice person. False advertising. This district is in part John Conyers old Detroit district.
