Come to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. We have a mask mandate, but it is ignored by everybody. We ate downtown on Friday and we saw exactly one mask and probably saw 500 people on the main street.
I thought the masks prevented contaminated droplets from spreading to other people?
My CNN watching liberal, ex-friend, screeched this on the phone to me all the time.
A couple of weeks ago she sent me text messages about the “peaceful protesters” here in Portland (after we had agreed to not talk politics) and I decided I had been quiet long enough and sent her photos from Twitter of what’s going on. Haven’t heard a peep from her since.
But - is it not true about the droplets?

Masks:
Most cloth masks are grossly inadequate to filter.
Most people do not wear their mask correctly: under nose, on beard, hanging from left or right ear...
Many masks like those sold for a lot of money (N95) when this started do absolutely nothing! They have an exhaust valve and if someone coughs or sneezes it is expelled unfiltered.
When masks get wet, they stop working properly. That happens after a mere 20 minutes of use (your exhaled breath contains moisture). Do you or the people you see around you change them out every 20 minutes?
How many people wash their cloth masks constantly?
Now I can talk about all the potential risks masks pose, i.e. the filth people are breathing, or how folks with asthma and other conditions could get in trouble. But right now, no one cares about that.
The mask = adult pacifier
It makes people feel in control and like they can “do something.” It makes people feel safer. It’s the simple solution politicians and government agencies always look for (example Obama’s answer was to inflate tires when asked about our energy policy). We need simple and easy answers, and the mask is it.
It’s all BS, but when it’s emotions vs. rational thought, feelings always win.

Yes... But Dr. Fauci and WHO know they work... That’s whey they said... ‘Don’t wear mask’ for the first three months of this nonsense... So more people would die while we were completely locked down.
There are droplets and aerosols. Even cheesy masks protect against droplets. Not so much against aerosols. And since people with WuFlu don’t seem to hock a lotta loogies, I’d be more worried about aerosols.
And the masks available to the general public aren’t that much better than nothing with aerosols.

I join with you when I say that I will not wear a mask or face covering nor will I take the vaccine.
I really enjoyed my time in Holland, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Iceland. If I’m going to live in a Socialist country, it won’t be the US. It’s becoming Balkanized.
To put this whole controversy to bed, make HCQ and Zinc Sulfate OTC drugs and if someone has a cough and/or fever, begin a regimen of medication immediately, Pandemic over. Having to wait to get tested and wait for the results is what is killing most infected patients but its making Big Pharma billions. Follow the money.
I will move if this pandemic/over-reaction continues.
