Are we having fun yet, know-it-all Manhattan liberals?
Spot on
Long before you were a gravy stain (or is it sauce?) on your dad's pants I was living in Brooklyn. Then off I went to the biggest garbage dump on the planet, Staten Island, which incidentally is historically the Italian end of northern NJ. So please, before you defend the cesspool that is NYC, know what you're talking about.
Capisce?
I understand your frustration. I’ve visited NYC only twice in my lifeonce when I was fourI remember going to a Yankees game, and once 22 years ago to bury my uncle. I was struck and surprised by how friendly and even outgoing the New Yorkers I met were.
That said, you do realize that virtually all national news, all of the TV networks are headquartered in New York. It is the financial capital of the U.S. New York has an outsized influence on American culture. I’m sure you’ve seen the map (was it a New Yorker cover?) that shows the Hudson as a border with only a tiny depiction of Chicago and the West Coast and a vast nothingness in between.
Governor Cuomo said “America was never that great” and that people who don’t share his political and philosophical values aren’t really welcome in his state. I think and hope that it’s your politicians that non-New Yorkers are rooting against and hoping to fail and not New York and New Yorkers.
And the rest sit by and allow it to happen instead of dragging this puke mayor out and beating him with small clubs
