All Washington, D.C., public schools will begin the year virtually on Aug. 31 until at least Nov. 6, Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office announced Thursday.

Bowser seemed to allude to the union's unwillingness to return to the classroom as a factor in the district’s decision to return virtually.

“You know, I’m just going to speak candidly, if we don’t have teachers who want to come in person, we would have to find another set of adults who want to come in person,” Bowser said, according to WTOP.

The teachers’ pay should go virtual too. Collect when you can, girls.

Bowser was asked if DC would let kids return to classrooms to do virtual learning if needed. Her response:

"If we dont have teachers who want to come in person we'll have to find another set of adults who want to come.... And we will, if chancellor says that's what we need"— Perry Stein (@PerryStein) July 30, 2020

November, eh?

Who in hell do they think they’re fooling?

The game plan is to stretch out the frustration and misery until the election.

A miserable America is the Dems’ only chance.

DC public schools spend an average of $27,000 per student each year, yet utterly fail at providing a high quality education to them. OECD average is $9,000 per student. US average is $12,000.

They’re already approaching a point where it would be cheaper to hire personal teachers to go to each child’s home and teach them there.

Gee, wonder what a Washington DC public high school diploma for the “virtual graduates” will be?

Can’t even get gold medals for attendance now.

2008!:

For its $29,780 spent per student, LAUSD’s graduation rate is 40.6 percent, second worst in the country.

Interesting that they are able to project a precise date, November 6, for the likely end of the Covid Crisis. Just by coincidence, the election is on November 3. Could they make this game a little more obvious?
