Trolling or not, I cannot see how this “question” of Trump’s improves his chances for re-election. Yes, it might annoy some top Democrats.
But I can’t imagine any swing voter now saying, “Trump is talking about delaying the election. That settles it. I’m voting for him.”
Here’s what I can imagine: “Wait, what? Trump is talking about delaying the election. That doesn’t sound right.”
(And yes, Trump posed it as a question. But lots of folks won’t see it that way.)
Election security. Big bright spotlight. Game the election system this late in the day and you risk delaying the election. Universal Mail-In Voting? Can’t happen. Hence the tweet.
It forces a sanity check against everything being shut down for safety’s sake.
GDP numbers fell radically today for the last quarter.
The enemy will naturally attack where they believe there is a weakness in your defenses.
By feigning a weakness, you can provoke an attack on your terms, thereby controlling the dynamics.
This is what President Trump is a master at doing, time and time again.
The angrier they are the less rational, and the less aware they are, that they are being played.
Often, when the President tweets something, you don’t find out until a few weeks later what the purpose was.
