The 21st century began @ 12:00:01 AM January 1st, 2001 (centuries do not begin with a ‘0’. There was no year ‘zero’.)
The Y2K thing happened a full year before the 21st century started.
Oh yes there was a jeopardy question on that and my family and I were puzzled. The answer to the 20th century is that it started on Jan 1, 1901. WTF?!
