Alinsky tactics don’t work at FR as well as you may have used them elsewhere. Kiss gatesass more and the scrutiny will increase.
I’m surprised anti-wealth zealotry would be well received among conservatives. The conservatism I was raised with praised self-made men who worked hard for their money and then used it however they chose. If Gates wants to give away the fortune he’s amassed to causes he believes in (like education, disease prevention, and so on), then good for him. It’s his money; I don’t think I’m entitled to tell him how to use it.
And I don’t think a message of “Team Polio!” is well received anywhere outside a small group of extremists. In the fight between infectious diseases and human lives, most people are on the side of keeping human beings alive and safe. It strikes me as incredibly contrarian to be on the side of disease. What exactly do the signs look like at anti-vax rallies? “Bring back Smallpox”? “We demand Polio”? “More Measles now”?
