I am a 61-year old male.

I am well acquainted with the grandmother lifestyle.

With a two day a week school schedule, millions of grandmas will have to take care if Dick and Jane three days a week.

Grandmas and grandpas will get exposed to COVID danger three days a week and will die in the thousands.

Several studies are showing there is very little transmission from child to adult. It acts as a viral dead end for 10 and younger.

Very similar to SARS COV1, which only had one known case of transmission from a child 18 or under https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/551274?fbclid=IwAR0WfAoG_VshFrXYqXaSeafrA0pF48yVBpvhllJ9enIZXcNQ-Tx0zJdyRxw).

So with at 100% remote schedule, which CA has chosen over the hybrid model, millions of grandmas would have to take care of children also.

Either way, we have millions of grandmas providing the child care, yes.

That’s one of many reasons why schools should 100% reopen, but I don’t think many districts in the US are doing this. Some are pushing back start dates, buying a little time.
