About as close to “politics” as I get these days, is this thread. I haven’t had the TV on in weeks, probably a couple of months by now. I turned it on for maybe 3 minutes the other day while dogsitting somewhere & had to turn it off as soon as the commercials came on - I just can’t take it any more.

I KNOW who I am voting for - I don’t need to see anything else although I keep up with current events vis FR, Sunday Morning thread, other online sources. The vast majority of print & cable media is utter crap, lies, etc. I’m fed up to the max & then some - no more tolerance for it.

On a more positive side, lots of work outside with the garden, mowing, observing nature. I pray a lot. I also target practice, too. :-)

The hawk was making dinner out of a squirrel that had visited the bird feeders. Hopefully, he’ll come back for future dinners .... the squirrels eat seeds off the ground, but eventually go for the mother lode - my feeders. They are very destructive & chew up the port holes.

As for the birds, we have lots of bluebirds with several nests fledged this year, flocks of Goldfinches feeding on the sunflowers, tithonia (Mexican suflowers), even zinnias. We have the hawk, several baby bunnies, crows (lots of ‘em), turtles, lizards, etc. Last Monday/Tuesday were snake days - a 5-1/2 footer in one of the nest boxes in the chicken coop & on Tuesday, a smaller one in the trash can where the chicken food is kept (after a mouse that was nibbling holes in the bag). We have a deer who is devastating the hostas in the yard - she treats them as her gourmet salad bar.

So that’s what I’m doing these days. God bless President Trump. The DemonRats & their ilk ... they will eventually get their “just reward”, even if it’s not on this earth. John Lewis - see tag line & that also applies to all the DemonRats these days.

GOOD ADVICE and I’m working on it. Eleanor Roosevelt had a good saying: “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent” During my much younger days, when I was showing horses among the ‘hoi polloi’ (of which I was definitely not a member), I was repeating this under my breath while in the ring. In the current environment, I will change it slightly to say “no one can suck the joy out of your life without your consent”. Anyone doing this, if I can control the circumstances (like being around them), I am just not exposing myself to it.

You are a lot like me, also.

I have a lot of acres and a couple of big fields I mow and an extensive garden (although this time of year, the only thing I still pick is okra and tomatoes).

I also have lots of birds on my property. I even got some “bionic ears” to hear and record them better to identify them. So I’ll go out and just sit in the fields or woods and try to find which bird is singing.

Did you know this time of year bird song fades away very quickly as breeding season comes to a close? I’m in Alabama, so that happens at a slower pace, but it is a lot quieter this morning than it was a couple of months ago.

I also like to go out at night and watch the stars.

I got a pretty good view from my back field when it’s dark. I notice Cygnus getting higher and higher as full on Summer arrives. Did see the comet Newsome a few times but it’s pretty faint for my old eyes.

You're doing what my wife and I are doing. We simply don't care what the Swamp thinks is news anymore. REAL news to REAL Americans has simply vanished from the air waves. The Fox News Toadies occasionally put a 'fair and balanced' spin on their Swamp News, but it's totally irrelevant for anyone between Manhattan Island and the Bay Bridge. Even Marie has gotten caught up in presenting some irrelevant Swamp News (though she is still tolerable).

To REAL people, ALL lives matter, ANTIFA and BLM rioters should be jailed, Biden should be mercifully placed in a nursing home, Marxist mayors and AGs should be investigated for treason, and school should start right after Labor Day. Anyone who thinks otherwise is to dumb to even consider having a valid opinion.
