We lived in the DC area after I finished my active duty Navy time and finished up my active reserve time in the mid to late 1960’s
One of our neighbors was a former Navy Security group vet during WWII and from my home state.
He was in the tail end of WWII, and his foreign language skill was Mandarin not German or Japanese.
His group monitored the Chinese to the end of WWII and into the cold war before and after they became the ChiComs.
After WWII was over, he joined the CIA did various tours around China and in Nam before the war started there. He was connected with the U2 flights over China before we knew about the flights over Russia.
He said that Russia was dangerous and evil. However, the Chi Coms were the most evil and dangerous people in the history of the world.
Later, he added Iran to that list before and after the mullahs took over. He was assigned to our embassy before the Shah was overthrown.
So, at high levels we knew about the dangers of the ChiComs before WWII ended and later the millions killed by them after, they took over China.
Yet, they were never labeled like the Russians were as the Evil Empire.
It is past time that, they should be labeled as the current Evil Empire and the really Dangerous Deep State thugs at all levels.
