Major League Baseball players have the option of having a patch with “Black Lives Matter” or “United For Change” on a jersey sleeve on opening day of the pandemic-delayed season.
Teams have the option of stenciling an inverted MLB logo with “BLM” or “United for Change” on the back of the pitcher’s mound during opening weekend games.
After discussions among the commissioner’s office and the Major League Baseball Players Association, The Players Alliance and individual players, each player may use a wristband with an inverted MLB logo in which the silhouetted batter is black, the first use of such a logo.
Each player also may use a Black Lives Matter batting practice T-shirt or a T-shirt designed or obtained by the player or his team.
MLB is lifting cleat restrictions for this season, giving players the ability to put messages for social justice and causes on their spikes.

It would be hilarious if the FEC came after MLB for illegal campaign contributions due to the donations going to BLM go straight into democrat wallets. Not to mention the advertising those patches offer.

After a lifetime of following MLB, they just killed it for me. BLM is an anarchist arm of the “Demonrat” party. They funnel funds to the elitist political elites of the Democrat party. They are either stupid or complicit but in the end it does not matter. The damage is done.
Canceled my season tickets, and won’t be watching any games. Same for NFL and NBA zero games.

I wish I had watched sports and been a big fan. My boycott would be more effective. But I have never spent a penny knowingly on any major league sport in my life.
I have been a fan of baseball — loved and played it — but no more. This is outrageous.

I don’t think MLB or other pro sports will lose 60 percent of their viewers. All it will take is 20 percent turning off the television to kill the golden goose. The economic models are based on a never ending growth of TV revenues. They are now facing a decline in revenues, with salary caps dropping. The coming battles between owners and players will be fun to watch.
