Will is only 79. One of the sons from the first marriage has Down syndrome--I remember him writing about him. At least he thought the boy was really his son.

Some of his columns about baseball were good--at least I thought so at the time. There was one where he skewered Gore as a pompous ass. But that was written 20 years ago.

He liked to use a lot of fancy words in his columns so people would be impressed by his amazing intellect...probably had staffers looking the words up in a thesaurus.
