Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder under arrest in $60 million bribery case

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder is under arrest in connection with a $61 million federal bribery case, a source close to the investigation said Tuesday.

An FBI spokesman confirmed Tuesday FBI agents are on scene conducting law enforcement activity in the area of Householder’s Glenford Farm in Perry County, and it’s connected to an announcement coming this afternoon from federal officials involving $60 million in bribes paid to a state official and associates.

He also confirmed it is connected to an announcement earlier this morning from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio related to charges involving a “$60 million bribe to a state official and associates.”

U.S. Attorney David DeVillers and FBI Special Agent in Charge of the Cincinnati office Chris Hoffman will discuss the case in a 2:30 p.m. news conference in Columbus, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

“Federal officials will brief the media on a public corruption racketeering conspiracy involving $60 million,” the release states.

FOX19 NOW reached to Householder for comment but did not immediately hear back.

“Corruption is not remotely unique to one party.”

Just prosecution of corruption.

Out of curiosity, would anyone other than a connected politician be allowed house arrest for something this big. Lots of hands in that cookie jar. Bet they’re hoping he kills himself or if the victim of a home invasion.

Matt Borges also is a long-time fixture in Ohio GOP politics. He was hand-picked in 2013 by then-Gov. John Kasich to lead the Ohio Republican Party. But allies of Donald Trump ousted him shortly after Trump was elected president in November 2016.

John Kasich will be endorsing Joe Biden at the Democratic National Convention next month.

I didn’t know this till now but Householder is RINO

Who was elected Speaker in 2019 with the votes of FEWER THAN HALF of the majority Republicans and TWO THIRDS of the RATS over the incumbent GOP Speaker. Amazingly 12 rats didn’t vote for the corrupt SOB (who had been Speaker awhile ago before being term limited out of the leg and was under investigation before also) but it was not enough to prevent the Kaisch wing and most rats from electing him.

This has happened in several state houses. It is not acceptable and needs to be called out by national Republicans including the President.

Man, these state legislatures are sooooo much better than their federal counterparts. Just think how AWESOME things would be if the Ohio legislators who picked that guy got to pick their state's U.S. Senators too. Thomas Jefferson would so proud. We need to have these distinguished public servants picking all the U.S. Senators. If you disagree that they would pick modern day Henry Clay's for that job, then you obviously hate the founding fathers and the U.S. Constitution.

So do the bribers get to keep the billion dollar bailout for their nuclear and coal electric plants? Company X, aka First Energy, should cease to exist and their assets sold off. Some of the dirtiest political fighting ever was to keep the referendum of the subsidy off of the ballot.

If he/they are crooks, send them to jail. Party affiliations are legally irrelevant here (though the media will have a field day with them. Then send the media to jail for being corrupt too).

Kasich is a traitor to America so he should be sent to jail too. The little SOB smelled so “red” over the past 10 years I’m surprised nobody has called him “Little Lenin”.

Who says Kasich isn’t? Larry might just roll over on him to cut himself a deal.

Republicans,Democrats.... who cares anymore. Our nation is in deep trouble with both these parties. Thank God for Donald Trump though. After he’s out of office in 2024, then the rats on both sides will continue the utter destruction of The United States of America. And we let it happen!

“When are you folks gonna realize the Republicans are screwing us just as much as the Dems..”

Republicans do screw us, but to say they screw us as badly as Democrats - is simply not true.

Without opposition from Republicans (as weak as it is), Democrats would destroy the republic practically overnight.

Republican politicians can be just as weak and corruptible as Democrat politicians, but their voter constituency is far superior.

Some can lie, break promises, and still stay in office forever, but most know they must be somewhat accountable to Republican voters, who love their Liberties, love the Constitution, hold traditional values and put America First.

I agree politicians are not held accountable nearly as much as they should be, but if patriots have ANY ability to limit the government and hold it accountable, it is through the Republican Party.

The Democrat party is a 100% destructive force, hell bent on destroying our Constitutional Republic and replacing it with Collectivist Socialism (Marxism).

We need to think twice before we toss the Republican Party aside - we need to “go to war with the army we have, not the army we wish we had.”

The US Attorney’s presser today named “Company A” as the source of the bribes. Who is “Company A”?
