placate a small group of online leftist agitators.
The name change was done to placate FedEx who writes a $200 million check to the team.
Yup. Unless those OK with "Redskins" are going to pony up that money, the change is a done deal.
I never understood the Federal Express connection to this controversy.
Yes I know they are paying for the naming rights for FedEx Field. And they signed up for the rights and paid for those rights in conjunction with the team having the name of Redskins at that time. How are they in any position to demand that the name be changed otherwise what? Otherwise they won’t pay this year’s annual installment payment for the naming rights?
If that happened, then there would be a messy lawsuit involving Federal Express, and possibly the Redskins or whoever owns that Stadium would simply sell the naming rights to some other company instead. ,
Didnt seem to bother FedEx in 1999. Or for the 21 years between then and now.
and why is FEDEX so upset about the name? Because of a bunch of loud people online and in the streets. NOT because of the majority. Cowards or they have the same agenda as BLM etc. Take your pick.

I think that’s a convenient way to pass the buck, but one thing’s for sure: Starting yesterday, UPS will be getting the entirety of my package delivery business!
