Refrigerated trucks have been requested in Texas and Arizona as coronavirus deaths continue to rise. They are among the states that have recently seen a surge in COVID-19 cases.
In San Antonio, Texas, there is an issue of morgue space at hospitals, so refrigerated trucks are at the ready, Bruce Davidson, director of communications for the San Antonio mayor's office, told CBS News on Tuesday.
During a meeting on COVID-19 with San Antonio and Bexar County officials on Monday, San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg also said refrigerated trucks were requested, adding that just 10 percent of hospital beds in the county were available.
"We are nowhere near the sustained decline in cases. ...The hospital system as a whole, as we said, is under severe stress," Nirenberg said.
When asked during Monday's meeting about the need for refrigerated trucks in Bexar County, where San Antonio is located, Dr. Ken Davis, chief medical officer of Christus Santa Rosa Health System, said it is a "hard thing to talk about people's loved ones are dying."
"In a hospital, there are only so many places to put bodies... We're out of space, and our funeral homes are out of space, and we need those beds. So, when someone dies, we need to quickly turn that bed over," Davis said.
Over 19,600 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Bexar County, making it one of the Texas counties with the most confirmed infections, behind Harris and Dallas counties. In total, there have been over 275,000 coronavirus cases across the state and 3,322 people have died there due to the virus.
In Nueces County, which includes the city of Corpus Christi, there have been 6,427 confirmed cases. The county's medical examiner, Dr. Adel Shaker, told the Texas Tribune late last week

All during March and April, they were saying the same crap about NYC. It never came to pass even there.
BS.
Deaths nationwide ticked up from 500 to 750 a day over the last two weeks. But cases up to two weeks ago rose much more than April. So the death-to-case ratio is 17% of what it was in April assuming a two week lag in deaths. It is simply not a big deal. Keep in mind flu deaths are 1000 a day at the peak, and at least some of the 750 a day are died with COVID (or presumed COVID) and not from COVID.
CBS? They live up to their name every minute of everyday. Yes, I do see BS!
Ongoing propaganda in support of the current nearing successful communist take-over.
This reporting is so irresponsible it should be criminal.
I live in San Antonio. It’s real. And it’s not just old people, either.
It did come to pass there. 0.25% of New Yorkers died (NYC) and bodies piled up. 25% got exposed and have antibodies. They were the worst case scenario, collapsed hospitals like Elmhurst, killing people with venitlators, etc. But still only a 1% fatality to exposure rate.
Exactly. And because it's the young, the death rate is much lower. Only 17% of the rate in April.
Why chill them when they can bury or cook them?
No, trains of refrigerator cars.
“I live in San Antonio. Its real. And its not just old people, either.”
Ok, let’s have the stats and the source showing the demographic breakdown.
Cases are irrelevant. How many deaths?
RE: Cases are irrelevant. How many deaths?
See the CBS title: Morgues fill up due to Coronavirus deaths
I don't necessarily doubt that that there is some surge due to opening and due to them getting hit with their (likely single) wave later than others, and of course the pure case-count spike is much accounted for by increased testing and fake and questionable reporting, though not all.
But Until that gets into the 500's or 1000's, going from 50 a day to 150 a day to me is not yet anything catastrophic or outside the scope of them simply getting hit later.
Add to that the 'probably had it' and 'died with' and I remain unconcerned for the country. I mean obviously it sucks for people to die of this, but I'm gonna guess they are even better at inflating the death numbers than they were a few months ago when it first hit.
I don't know -> does 100 extra deaths a day in a state as big as texas require refrigerator trucks? Or are the democrats renting refrigerator trucks when they are not really needed so that that so called journalist can claim they are not technically lying?
Like any lefty operation ... there is a 10% seed of truth and 90% scam and it's always about manipulative language, omission, fake inclusion ... all for the narrative, and lefty lumpen voters don't even QUESTION whether what they hear on CNN might be anywhere from 0 to 100 percent fake. If they DID question it, they'd probably arrive at the same conclusion, but they don't even QUESTION it.
That's still what my money is on. Seed of truth, but no, shall we say, plant growing.
Someone LOCAL in these places.... get the death FACTS from the coroners-— it is public information.
THIS IS TOTAL BULL CRAP!. Portable morgues and the “body bag” shite like during Iraq War.... the “quagmire” argument.
Keep up the fake scare....
Again— FREEPERS-— dig for the FACTS. Activists— report, get this to real MEDIA. OAN, REAL Fox news and of course twatter.
Lying scum Democrats.
