Anyone who thinks “federalism” allows state governments to abuse their residents and the federal govt can’t intervene, would have been comfortable in the Democratic Party of George Wallace and the other Jim Crow southern Democrats. “States rights” was their battle cry
I’m sure if Trump tried to intervene on behalf of California students, parents, businesses and churches, Newsom would also be bleating about “federalism” and “states rights”
