My liberal friends fully believe Fauci is a hero and the only sane person in the Trump administration.

They believe him without question. And when give examples his contradictions?

They tell me it’s because this is an evolving virus and pandemic and we learn new things each day. Naturally, his answers would change as we learn.

What can you say to that? Heroes are never wrong and those who challenge them are never right.

To them, it’s obvious: Trump is never right about anything and he’s especially wrong about all things Covid.

But Fauci is always right, even when he’s demonstrably wrong.

Good luck separating those emotions and fears from facts and reality.

Fear knows it’s right and emotions won’t let you forget it.

Sooner or later, I’m going to point out that President Donald J. Trump is the only POTUS who has not started a war and has instead been bringing our troops back home.

I predict they will change the subject or rattle off some memorized talking points about Russia or something.

I asked one friend who claims to have voted for both parties if he ever actually listened to Rush Limbaugh after telling me that Rush was a racist and a bigot and a homophobe, etc. and should never have been honored the way he was.

Once or twice, he told me, but he couldn’t stand him. Uh huh ... sure. That’s why his opinion is the exact wording of every other demonrat’s opinion about Rush. Word for word, the exact same phrase.

My liberal family members are the same way and use the exact same phrases about any political subject anyone brings up.

They’re very well programmed. Thinking is only for defending the cult beliefs of the moment and whatever hill their cult tells them to stand on.

My liberal friends fully believe Fauci is a hero and the only sane person in the Trump administration. They believe him without question.

We have several neighbors like that. They almost always have their facts wrong and live in complete fear of of this virus. Even presenting them with current facts or actual scientific studies or data does no good. They are repelled like Dracula presented with a cross. Everyone must wear a mask has become their life mantra. They "believe in every word" Fauci says even when shown he contradicts himself constantly.

It really is bizarre behavior for otherwise intelligent people. The delusion is strong.
