Democrat Sen. challenger Mark Kelly is campaigning on background checks and gun seizures as he tries to unseat pro-Second Amendment Sen. Martha McSally (R-AZ).
Kellys wife, Gabby Giffords, was shot by an attacker in Tucson on January 8, 2011. That attacker acquired his gun via a background check, yet Kelly is campaigning to expand the point-of-sale opportunities to conduct background checks, with his campaign website suggesting such checks keep kids and communities safer.
Again, his wifes attacker passed a background check for his gun, as has nearly every mass shooter of recent memory.

Kelly should be running in CA not AZ.
He is a dangerous gun-grabbing leftist. His proposed solutions to gun violence are not merely ineffective, but will usher in his real goal red flag laws.
This appears to be one of those “must hold” Senate seats.
Come on Arizona, drag this lady across the finish line in first place.
The nutbag that shot Giffords did so because he didn’t think she was leftard enough.
Iirc, they brushed it under the rug pretty quickly that the shooter was a dem fan.
Real space must’ve affected his brain.
Kelly should run on this platform: All Democrats should surrender all their guns, abort their first child and pay 70% of their income in taxes.
Beto wannabe or is the idiot trying his best to out stupid Beto?
I thought he was psychotic over grammar?
Still pisses me off that they named a ship after her.
Theyre all must holds at this point.
All that, and he is still ahead. But he has been running ads for a couple of months already, with people complaining about McSally not caring about pre-existing conditions in health care. McSally has just started her ads and they are mostly about Kellys ties to China. Hope they work as she still isnt running ads about his gun-grabbing (I have read that she is afraid it might backfire due to sympathy for Giffords).
IIRC, Loughners mom worked in Tucson Parks and Recs Dept. And she requested that nothing be done about her son. The Dems have a lock on Tucson, so it was politics that lead to the complaints about his menacing people to largely be ignored (he had threatened to kill a few people). And a couple of classmates at the Community College said they would always sit near the door in classes because they were afraid he was going to shoot up the place.
Yes, it is NEVER mentioned that he was a wacko Leftist. It is also never mentioned that one man who died was a Conservative judge who covered an older man with his own body, and the older man did survive. Judge Roll was the mans name and he should have been singled out and honored, but Tucson cannot honor a Conservative man......it just isnt in their blood, just like all other Dem strongholds.
Yes, but her attacker was a liberal, as have been almost all of mass shooters. If guns were kept from Democrats 90% + of gun crimes would not happen.
But gun rights groups need to run their own ads against Kelly's positions, since McSally is afraid to do it. This seat should be an easy win, but our candidate is weak. We have several good Representatives - notably Andy Biggs - who could be performing far better in the polls.
I remember.
“How far the space program has deteriorated.”
Amen to that.
My neighbor of 23 years (just moved with his wife to be closer to the grandkids in NM) went up on the Challenger as a scientist (Astro Physicist). He also helped in the design of the space shuttle.
I stopped being neighborly to him when, at an open house filled with strangers, he shouted: ‘I just hate George Bush!”
C-Ya around, mate.
I am still reminded how California shelved it’s AS Ban because so many Californians were opposed to it.
Then the state released Pat Purdy from a mental institution, allowed him to LEGALLY buy handguns in the state, and an AK-47s in Oregon, lying on his form 4473.
He then shot up the Stockton school yard and killed himself.
The shelved bill was pulled out and passed so fast no opposition could be made against it.
