I don’t want anything to be mandatory.

But the amount of ignorance that is expressed every time RFID is mentioned is just staggering. These devices obey laws of physics that are completely predictable and immutable, including the inverse square law which makes it impossible to read the chip from more than a short distance away. Shielding prevents even that from occurring and nothing can alter this behavior. It’s entirely within a company’s right to restrict access within its facilities and systems and employees have no right to refuse to demand a physical key for example when electronic access control has been implemented. Again, it should NOT be mandatory! But there are benefits and reasons beyond just big brother paranoia.

Facial recognition, and something MS did with a camera that would recognize someone’s bone structure...distance between knee and heel, and elbow and wrist and gait and... combine those with autho’ed persons data for a location and why would you need to implant a chip?

“It only operates short range”.

That doesn’t matter. It is a body modification.

How is that different from forcing me to wear a tattoo? Or a tattoo barcode?

How is that different from forcing people to wear an earring?

How about protection from self incrimination? The police can’t take my DNA, but now they can verify my identity from afar from a chip? What about fraud and criminal set ups? A criminal wears a copy of your chip and you are arrested?.

What about religious objection? Many interpret the apocalypse as indicating the end of the world will come when people are branded with a sign.
