Unfortunately, while Newt sounds a loud alarm and speaks a truth of which the vast majority of us are aware, he doesn't name a single RINO.

True, that.

Could we, here at FR, do it for him?

I'll start (some no longer in office).

Romney, Collins, Lee, Murkowski, Cornyn, Ryan, Kasich, Alexander, Schwarzenegger and Jeb.

Additions to the deep state RINO list?

Anyone?

unfortunately Newt is correct again

at least 5 or 6 of them should be removed from the GOP now. the problem is that 3 at least are giving McConnell his “majority” (his job!)... and if they were thrown out now then the Senate leadership would go to anti-American anti=Christian anti=Jewish (despite his descent) Socialist Schummer the Liar

so we are stuck with the 3 rotten R apples in the Senate right now .. let’s hope and pray and WORK to elect a few more really good people this November!!!! it is IMPORTANT!

I just said to my husband that if the Senate is at 50-50, Romney will jump to the democrats.

Yes. I can trust Romney's integrity and honesty as a Republican as far as I can throw Jerry Nadler when he's off his diet.

Remember the Gingrich days?.....

The Revolution of '94, or Gingrich Revolution, refers to the Republican Party (GOP) success in the 1994 U.S. midterm elections, which resulted in a net gain of 54 seats in the House of Representatives, and a pickup of eight seats in the Senate. The day after the election, Senator Richard Shelby of Alabama, a conservative Democrat, changed parties, becoming a Republican; on March 3, 1995, Colorado senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell switched to the Republican side as well, increasing the GOP senate majority.---parts of Wikipedia summary.

Right. The idea of a victorious Chuck Schumer looking downward over his glasses at us lowly Deplorables about to be shackled and imprisoned--or worse--is horrifying.

I have never gotten over the clips of Bill and especially Hillary in the high up VIP box at the Dem convention clapping to Fleetwood Mac's Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow followed by their triumphant victorious delirium at the Dem election victory celebration. CAN-- NOT-- STAND-- IT.

We have to win. No Plan B.

I thought Newt became one of them.

True.

Some people (like David in the Bible under his circumstances then), have to later repent sincerely and in today's world support Trump. Some fine people here at one time wanted Cruz and the Glenn Beck types had to change over, too. I am thankful I had the foresight to be for Trump early.

I have totally rejected my in-laws and sister, my only living relatives except for my enthusiastically pro-Trump elderly uncle. I have no relatives I can accept and no neighbors or past co-workers. I hate at least 85% of the people in my city and region. As Pat Buchanan's sister said of herself: "I filter everything in my mind by politics." And columnist Kurt Schlichter: "The Left hates us. It is time for us to hate them back."

So let me try to heal by forgiving Newt.

I have to have some tiny amount of forgiveness in my hostile, vengeful, bitter self. I'm trying.

The Republican party was all but dead on the floor before Trump. If not for Trump, Hillary Clinton would be the president. I never trusted the Republcan party, and like Buchanan said years ago, “The differences between the two beltway parties are inconsequential.” Bitter truth.

And the only reason why some Republicans came over to Trumps corner was due to his historic middle class support. Do some Republicans genuinely support Trump? Yes, but very few.

“about 88 percent of the GOP are deep state members.“

You have it backwards - more like 12%

I have suspected for years that the DNC has ‘plants’ in the Republican party. Why would they not?

Many if them took advantage of Reagan's coattails.

Newt is good. He doesn’t agree with Trump on everything but that’s okay.

I noticed he mentioned McConnell. Trump is supporting McConnell’s primary challenger. Anybody have any ideas on that? McConnell has been effective with the judge appointments (although they seem not to have turned out that well in practice).

I didn't know that but I can understand it. McConnell continues to support Murkowski. He is against the conservative wing of the party. He uses his PAC to support RINO's running against conservatives in primaries.

There are so few of these creeps that the number of people who have observed what Trump has accomplished and are now in favor of Trump, far overwhelms them in the vote. Come November, it will be clear that these creeps are little Romneys.

Well, by being the first to step out you were able to get the low-hanging fruit. {;^]

But let's id only the RINO's in office, they present the immediate threat (otherwise, Jeff Flake immediately comes to mind)

Of course, many RINOS hide behind an R vote on certain legislation and look good on paper. Others speak their mind or are intentionally misquoted by the MSM and appear questionable despite voting R. Some, loyal to Trump are forgiven for voting negatively due to local circumstances.

In short, unless you or I, or the average voter, have solid information and study the circumstances carefully, there is generally little basis for coming to a sound conclusion.

We generally give the most thought to the office of the president and choose those at the local level on the basis of who we think will provide the president with the greatest support. Naturally, those who fail to step up with little or no support are deemed to be RINOS.

Which is why the current R party has been a sizable disappointment for most of us. When it comes to not providing solid support, Graham and McConnell come to mind (although the latter offers a difficult analysis).

See my #39, it was a response to your post.

Have wondered what it meant when there was no addressee at the top of a post.

Interestingly, it means there was no addressee! (/snort)
