Actually...skyrocket accident of one kind or another would be quite possible. Lots of fireworks are shot off in SoCal this time of year, dry conditions notwithstanding.
The Mission roofs are virtually fireproof. They are made of clay tiles. A mere firework is not going to get a tile roof burning or half of Los Angeles County would have burnt down on the Fourth of July.
