I think there should be much more of this kind of appropriation from the left—not so much to level an un-level playing field as to survive it. de Blasio, and the rest of the liberal Mayors who have allowed this with BLM need to deal with the fallout of their decisions. They made the mess, and need to face the consequences of them. I think it's funny. Didn't Judicial Watch just filed suit against the Mayor of D.C. asking the court to grant them the right to paint “Because No One is Above the Law.” on the street.

A candidate for governor has asked the City of Montpelier for permission to paint an American flag and “Liberty and Justice for All” in huge red, white and blue letters next to the “Black Lives Matter” street mural in front of the Vermont State House.
“We would like to paint ‘Liberty and Justice for All’ for the Independence Day holiday in solidarity with Black Lives Matter,” Republican John Klar said in a special event request submitted June 29 to the City of Montpelier.
He wants to “reaffirm the founding principle in our Declaration of Independence that all men are created equal.”
Right. There’s no reason why a group with money can’t buy billboard space. If not tat, then maybe a private property owner might offer some wall space. That seems to be better than having the message of your cause driven over all day, speckled with pigeon crap, etc.
The weather service is predicting a tropical storm to hit NYC Friday night and into Saturday. Will the storm wash the paint away? Create a yellow mess?
to be fair some billboard companies won’t take conservative groups’ messages, and whether or not they can be sued about it I don’t know
