A White man and a White woman who allegedly painted over a California community’s Black Lives Matter mural this weekend are each facing a hate crime charge, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.

I’m not a lawyer, but I took the time (seem to have plenty now with Wuhan) to google California’s hate crime statute. It seems to my layman’s eye, that there has to be a victim. Now who is the victim? The street (because it’s black, maybe), the city government?, a passerby who gets the vapors because the word ‘Black’ was painted over.

That is just the beginning. BLM and other organizations will be marching on the same street this Sunday. I pray they don’t burn down Martinez.
