That us what I often hear from my few Black friends. When I bring up the unwed pregnancy rate, HS graduation rates, incarceration rates, etc., they amazingly always default to slavery and systemic racism. It’s like nothing has changed for Blacks in this country for 150 years. When asked how do they explain their good fortune it comes down to being lucky in some way, but most Black don’t have that lucky break.

These are all college educated, professional, upper middle class people.
