My problem isn’t with the SCOTUS agreeing that the POTUS records, as pertains to a real criminal investigation be re viewable. My problem is that you have to have a legitimate crime investigation to demand tax records. Everything involving Trump has been a politically motivated attack and a constant leak. NOTHING has been a legitimate investigation. The potential future harassment of the POTUS by bogus investigations and fishing expeditions is real.
Honestly, I have watched this play out for 3 years and I am certain that they will find that Trump has complex taxes with a entire accounting group filling them. There probably won’t be that much to see, were upon they will demand more records. I believe Trump has baited the Democrats to chase these records that will ultimately be legal and boring.
If there was anything criminal in those tax returns Obama’s IRS would have leaked them. This is going to be the world’s largest nothing burger.
