Active Shooter Reported At Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center In Twentynine Palms

TWENTYNINE PALMS (CBSLA) — An active shooter has been reported Tuesday at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms.
A shooter was first reported at about 6:30 a.m. A suspect is reportedly in custody.
It’s not clear if anyone has been shot or injured.
The base, located about 150 miles east of Los Angeles in the Mojave Desert, is the largest Marine Corps base in the world at 932 square miles.
This is a breaking news story. More information will be added as it comes in.

Had a buddy from high-school who rode a Greyound bus there from Pennsylvania to attend his basic training. For some reason they did not choose to send him to the much closer Parris Island.

Somehow, I would have preferred that read “Has been killed ...” Or better yet, “ ... has been shot in the groin, and may be permanently disabled ...”
Not sure of any “justice” will ever be finished if he/she/she/it has only been arrested, particularly if a terrorist/alien/recent Amish convert.
Hope no one else was injured.
I just talked to my son who is stationed at 29 Palms.
He heard about it, but seems to think it’s no big deal.
Could have just been a negligent discharge. He did not say he had to shelter in place.
The general discussion in his unit is the media could be making a big deal out of nothing, but they don’t know.
