“What ‘nation’ does it represent?”

It doesn’t represent any nation; it never did. It was written as a hymn back at the turn of the last century. Blacks co-opted it and made it political.

Will the NFL change their minds when they hear this?

Quite possibly.

“... is a good time for all people to learn ...”

You think the NFL, the people who can’t inform or be informed that the US Flag stands for the constitution which is against racism is going to inform people the truth of democrat involvement in the institution of slavery, perpetuation of racism and plantation mentality, system?

Are you kidding?

Dnish D’Souza’s Educational film depicting this has been banned. He was jailed for bogus charges

You think this isn’t divisive?

The NFL started this

Yes, and we should celebrate Juneteenth to commemorate the day Republicans freed the slaves from their Democrat slave masters.

Why not let owners then decide what gets played along with the national anthem?

I went to a rugby tournament overseas, where bag-pipers and drummers played “Amazing Grace” and the entire stadium sang along

It was glorious.

Yes indeed - it was also written as a hymn.

Still the best thing in sports is Liverpool fans singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.

The NFL has descended into nothing more than a political tool. I grew up loving to watch my home team, but now I loathe the NFL to the degree that I no longer care about that tea or anything connected to the NFL.

People need to realize that the Left has been targeting the NFL since its exception, and they are finally starting to succeed.

I don't care if you hate the NFL - that's precisely the reaction the Left wants. The NFL represented racial harmony, Christian values, and supporting local economies for decades. Now they are using race to drive a wedge and destroy the sport. It's the old divide-and-conquer tactic, and sadly too many people are falling for it.

I don’t see how they can be fair if they don’t play the national anthem for all hyphenated Americans. The playing, and kneeling, can go on all day.

L'Abidjanaise is the anthem of the Ivory Coast. Perhaps we could convince the brave, proudly anti-American protesters we so adore, and uplifting activist heroes like Kaepernick, and their colleagues, and friends, and family members, and fellow "peaceful protesters," to adopt this song, also, as their own, and to sing it, and to teach it to their progeny that they too might sing it, and that they all might proudly sing it proudly and beautifully and forevermore in the land in which it is sung as a national anthem?

Booker T. Washington should be a required study in high school history, at least a week’s worth. Especially this:

“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”

That might encourage young blacks to ignore the Sharpton/Jackson race baiters and listen to Thomas Sowell, Candace Owens, Walter Williams, Allen West and Dr. Ben Carson.

The title of this song is actually from an old white hymn...
