Students and professors are demanding that an academic journal fire a professor who criticized efforts to defund the police. Activists submitted a petition accusing University of Chicago economics professor Harald Uhlig of “trivializing the Black Lives Matter movement” on his Twitter account. The campaign came after Uhlig wrote that Black Lives Matter “torpedoed itself with its full ..

I would like to see s private university which focused on a STEM curricula. This university would require for graduation.

1. Completion of first year Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics, along with your major.

2. Completion of a rigorous 4-year study of Western Civilization. Each year covers 1 of the following 4 areas of study: Government, History, Arts, and Literature. These courses will be taught without political bias.

3. No political organizations.

4. No sports above the intramural level.

5. No “Studies” courses of any kind. The Humanities are covered in The Western Civilization curriculum.

6. Most important no taxpayer funds will be accepted.

Cooper Union in New York and California Institute of Technology in Pasadena come to mind.

I agree, however those schools take taxpayer funding. I’m looking at a Hillsdale type university except with a STEM focus.

In addition to your suggestions, I have said for years that classrooms should be video-recorded and playback allowed to students and parents for at least one week. Once teachers know that parents will be able to see their indoctrination, they will be more circumspect about it.

“You forget that the majority of the repubes are demonrats in different clothing.”

Last night on “Justice”, Dan Bongino said never forget that most Republicans are Democrat, but no Democrats are Republican. I assumed he was referring to politicians.

We’re going to have to defund everything in order to make this budget balance.

One problem is that so many people say “Yeah those other schools are bad, but mine is much better”. Unless you graduated from Hillsdale or Liberty or a Christian school that still believes in Christ, it’s not. Quit sending them money.

“Cooper Union in New York and California Institute of Technology in Pasadena come to mind.”

Although all (ALL) US universities have elements outside of STEM, schools that emphasize STEM include MIT (of course—the flagship of STEM), the Colorado School of Mines, and Iowa State University (the 19th century, land grant, science and agriculture universities were founded on the practical arts and this one leans toward STEM).

Notice that such schools tend to be of higher quality and prestige than non-STEM schools.

For alternative models of university curriculum, consider the non-US technical universities although they may have their own ideological problems. Consider the Ecole Polytechnique or the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
