They can play ‘Ring Around the Rosie’, for all I care. I won’t be watching!

I wager most are offended if not discouraged about the divisive, malicious agenda.

"...territory for a black homeland?"

There will be an expansion team - once they get out of jail.

......”This is part of a black separatism movement....It comes from a feeling of superiority and entitlement”......

Actually it's author and music are from the 1900’s....it's often sung in black churches or at events specifically geared to rising above slavery. It's entirely black oriented.

But I'd agree having this sung at the NFL is creating a distinction/separation of blacks from the ‘national’ anthem...of which all men fought for this country. Wen all this pandering to blacks dies down and they're left to actually rise and work in their communities to go further....will they?....or will they wait until the next time to it the streets for the adulation they can't seem to attain otherwise?

“Lift Every Voice” is a hymn and contained in many church hymnals. The words are OK, if the BLM doesn’t change them.

Re: “I’m retired. For 30 years prior I was self employed. Do your worse.”

LOL! I hear you...

I’m retired, too, and I come from five generations of small business owners.

Unfortunately, when the “New Boss” shows up, the first thing his crew will do is revoke Property Rights.

It doesn't matter.

If we sit around and analyze this shit, we'll end up compromising and the entire CONCEPT of a STRICTLY AMERICAN event/sport is no longer celebrated as such.

It is the victor's chant of conquest !

Carefully positioned snipers aimed at the loud speakers should do the trick.

Don’t know but the verses do say not too forget “our homeland” ....since written in 1900’s I’m not sure they mean the USA or Africa.

I went to a predominantly black inner city private high school many years ago. Lift Every Voice and Sing was sung at many events, but never along side the Star Spangled Banner and most certainly never in place of it. It is a beautiful hymn-like song. Whites and blacks (this was several years before white liberal elites foisted the term “African American” on the nation) sang the song together with joy. Even though it was nicknamed the black national anthem, there were no militant or separatist overtones. It was and is a beautiful song and it is a shame to see it exploited in such a crass and divisive manner.

I checked the lyrics and appears to denote rising above the slavery of their parents. You’d think by now they’d have a great song about Freedom achieved and celebration of being a part of the United States of America.
