When they trash Lincoln they’re just sending the message that it’s not possible for any white person to be acceptable to them.
As Dr. House said, "people lie." When someone is doing something that doesn't make sense, it's probably because the reason they gave you isn't the real reason. If you accept that they're lying, and what they really want to do is destroy the country, everything they do makes sense.
As a proud carrier of the name Abraham Lincoln (the “al” in “alloysteel”), I have an acute partiality to the historical 16th President. When they mess with the US one-cent coin and the five dollar bill, they mess with me. Far beyond just the Emancipation Proclamation, POTUS-16 had a folksy wisdom drawn upon his humble beginnings, and could make pithy summations and comparisons that quickly got to the point. There are those who have, over the decades since President Lincoln sat in the White House, who have pretended to act in his name, but those people have all failed to catch the essence that was the young Springfield lawyer. Basic respect and fairness in judgment all escape their grasp, and they spew what is sometimes arrant nonsense, while claiming they mean to make things right “this time”.
Like they think there is no “next time”.
